EndNote Update X3.0.1 for Windows

The update is available to EndNote X3 users and includes highly requested features that allow you to work with increased flexibility.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

It is recommended that you use Program Updates. Close all programs and turn off any background software, such as virus protection software. From within EndNote, choose "EndNote Program Updates" from the "Help" menu and follow the on-screen prompts.

Alternately, you can download a patch (please note that this is a .zip file that contains the .msp patch installer). To run this installer open the ZIP file and then double-click the MSP file to update your version of EndNote X3.

EndNote X3.0.1 includes the following improvements:

• Numbered citation ranges display properly for pairs and groups of multiple citations such as [1, 2] and [3-8].
• Improved Find Full Text support for proxy-modified URLs from link resolvers, more robust file type identification and better DOI recognition.
• Direct export now supports formatted text when available from the data provider.

EndNote Update X2.0.4 voor Windows en X2.0.2 voor Mac OS X

De update is beschikbaar voor EndNote X2 gebruikers en bevat belangrijke en veelgevraagde features die de flexibiliteit van uw werk ten goede komen.

INSTALLATIE INSTRUCTIES

Windows

Het is aan te raden om 'Programma Updates' te gebruiken. Sluit alle programma's en zet alle software op de achtergrond, zoals Anti-Virus software even uit. Vanuit EndNote, kies "EndNote Programma-updates" van het "Help" menu en volg de instructies op het scherm. Zodra het proces klaar is, kies "EndNote Programma-updates" van het "Help" menu en kijk of er nog meer updates zijn (als u werkt met een oudere versie van X2, kan EndNote tweemaal gepatched worden).

Als alternatief kunt u de X2.0.3 patch downloaden (let wel op dat dit een .zip bestand is dat de .msp installer bevat). Om deze installer uit te voeren dient u het ZIP bestand te openen en dubbel te klikken op het MSP bestand om uw versie van EndNote X2 te updaten.

Zodra dat installatieprogramma is voltooid, dient u de X2.0.4 patch te downloaden (let wel op dat dit een .zip bestand is dat de .msp installer bevat). Om deze installer uit te voeren dient u het ZIP bestand te openen en dubbel te klikken op het MSP bestand om uw versie van EndNote X2 te updaten.

Mac OS X

EndNote X2.0.2 (Mac)

• Open EndNote X2. Ga naar het EndNote X2-menu en kies "Over EndNote."
• Hier hoort te staan "EndNote X2.0.1 (BLD 3889). Als er alleen staat "EndNote X2", dient u de X2.0.1 patch onderstaand te installeren voorafgaand aan X2.0.2.
• Download het EndNote X2.0.2 Patcher bestand.
• U vindt de update in de Download map.
• Open de "EndNoteX2.0.2 Patch Installer" map.
• Dubbel-klik op het "EndNote X2.0.2 Patcher" bestand en volg de aanwijzingen.

EndNote Library mogelijkheden

Download the Mac OS X Patcher file. You will find the update in the Download folder. Open the "EndNoteX2.0.1 Patch Installer" folder. Double-click on the "EndNote X2.0.1 Patcher" file and follow the prompts.

EndNote now includes your own EndNote Web account so you can collaborate with colleagues and students easily. Using EndNote and EndNote Web you can:

• Transfer references between the Web and the desktop using the EndNote Web section in the Groups panel
• Share EndNote Web groups—simplify collaboration
• Cite references from both EndNote and EndNote Web in a single paper
• Work on the desktop, the Web or both!

EndNote 2010 Plugin for EndNote 8, 9, X and X1

This procedure modifies the work flow of importing records to use the "Custom 7" field as a temporary placeholder for "Year" information, then it automatically moves the data into the "Year" field, if the year field is empty on creation of a record. This workaround requires special connection files and filters (which are included) where the Year information is imported into Custom 7 field rather than the Year field.

Windows

• Download the Plugin and content files here
• Unzip the package to a temporary folder.
• Open this folder. Move the files 2010EN89.dll and 2010ENX.dll to the following folder: 32-bit Windows: C:\Program Files\EndNote(Version Number)\Plugins 64-bit Windows: C:\Program Files(x86)\EndNote(Version Number)\Plugins If there is no Plugins folder in your EndNote folder go to “File > New > Folder” (click the ALT key to see this menu in Vista or 7) and name the new folder Plugins.
• Open EndNote. Go to the Edit Menu, and choose Preferences.
• Select "Reference Types" and click the "Modify Reference Types" button.
• Scroll down the list to the Generic Name of Custom 7.
• Add the text Custom 7 to the blank box to the right of Custom 7. If the box already reads Custom 7 in both places or has a custom name on the right, simply click in the box to the right.
• Click the "Apply to All Ref Types" box.
• Click OK and close EndNote.
• In the temporary folder open the Connections folder. Press CTRL+A to select all of the files in the folder and then CTRL+C to copy them. Paste them in the folder: 32-bit Windows: C:\Program Files\EndNote(Version Number)\Connections 64-bit Windows: C:\Program Files(x86)\EndNote(Version Number)\Connections Note: The updated connection files and filters will have (2010) in the name, like PubMed (NLM) (2010)- be sure to use these when importing into EndNote.
• In the temporary folder open the Filters folder. Press CTRL+A to select all of the files in the folder and then CTRL+C to copy them. Paste them in the folder: 32-bit Windows: C:\Program Files\EndNote(Version Number)\Filters 64-bit Windows: C:\Program Files(x86)\EndNote(Version Number)\Filters

You have finished applying the plugin. All future imports into EndNote will now contain the correct year when using the 2010 connection files and filters.

Mac OS X

• Download the Plugin and content files here
• Unzip the package to a temporary folder.
• Open this folder. Move the files 2010EN89.bundle and 2010ENX.bundle to the following folder:

  *EndNote 8 and 9 users on 10.3.9 should only move the file 2010EN89.bundle. Note that testing was limited with EndNote 8 and 9 on 10.3 and 10.4.
• Open EndNote. Go to the EndNote Menu, and choose Preferences.

EndNote X1.0.2 (Windows) EN X1.0.3 (Mac)

Er is een nieuwe EndNote X1 patch: EndNote X1.0.2 voor Windows en X1.0.3 voor Mac. Deze patch is gratis voor EndNote X1 gebruikers en bevat de volgende nieuwe features:

Installatie-instructies Windows

• U moet EndNote X1 eerst volledig de-installeren en herinstalleren om de effecten van deze update te merken. Zorgt u dat u uw product key (en serienummers van oude licenties in het geval van upgrades) bij de hand hebt voordat u met dit proces begint! Als uw licentie onderdeel is van een volumelicentie of sitelicentie doet u dan niets, maar neem contact op met uw licentiebeheerder voor de bijgewerkte installatiebestanden.
• Download de EndNote X1.0.2 installatiebestanden. Kies voor de optie "Bestand opslaan".
• Maak een back-up van uw databases en gepersonaliseerde bestanden (zoals output styles en importfilters).
• Ga naar uw Configuratiescherm, kies Software (onder Vista en Windows 2007: Programma's en onderdelen) - Programma's wijzigen of verwijderen. Selecteer EndNote X1 en kies Verwijderen.
• Klik op Ja.
• Klik op Volgende totdat het de-installatieproces voltooid is.
• Open de EndNote X1.0.2 installatiebestanden die u gedownload had, en installeer deze. Als het installatieproces voltooid is, bent u helemaal up-to-date.

Installatie-instructies Mac

• U moet EndNote X1 eerst volledig de-installeren en herinstalleren om de effecten van deze update te merken. Zorgt u dat u uw product key (en serienummers van oude licenties in het geval van upgrades) bij de hand hebt voordat u met dit proces begint! Als uw licentie onderdeel is van een volumelicentie of sitelicentie doet u dan niets, maar neem contact op met uw licentiebeheerder voor de bijgewerkte installatiebestanden.
• Download de EndNote X1.0.3 installatiebestanden. Sla het bestand op en "mount" de disk image.
• Open EndNote X1. Ga naar het EndNote X1 menu en kies "Customizer".
• Klik op de Uninstall/De-installeer knop.
• Klik op Ja.
• Klik op Volgende totdat het de-installatieproces voltooid is.
• Verwijder aan het eind van het de-installatieproces de EndNote X1 map uit de applicatiemap. Let op! Als u in deze map databases en gepersonaliseerde bestanden (zoals output styles en importfilters) heeft staan, dan kunt u de map beter hernoemen naar "EndNote X1 Oude Map".
• Kopieer de nieuwe EndNote X1 map naar de applicatiemap en start de Endnote X1 installatie vanuit de applicatiemap zodat EndNote X1.0.3 geïnstalleerd wordt. Als het installatieproces voltooid is, bent u helemaal up-to-date.
